Call-out or simple job during working hours, without materials. Some price lists are + VAT.
02What affects the price
Outside working hours or on public holidays there is a surcharge or minimum charge (e.g. 30 € + VAT in one Attica price list).
A leak inside a wall or under tiles means breaking out and making good.
Unblocking a stack or the external network costs many times more than a washbasin.
Taps, traps and angle valves are charged separately.
Several price lists state “+ VAT”. At 24% the price goes up noticeably.
03Regional differences
The published price lists mostly refer to Attica. We found fixed prices of 30–45 € for changing a tap or unblocking a washbasin and a call-out of 40–80 € in national directories. In the provinces labour prices are usually the same or slightly lower, but distance is added. On islands in summer, availability is the biggest problem.
04Tips before you pay
- Ask whether the call-out is deducted from the work and whether the price includes VAT.
- For unblocking, ask for a flat price and not an hourly one.
- Turn off the main water valve before the technician arrives and photograph the fault: you can often get a price over the phone.
- If you have home insurance, check whether it covers “technical assistance” with free plumber call-outs.
- For repeated blockages, a camera inspection (60–120 €) finds the cause and saves later call-outs.
