02What affects the price

Distance between indoor and outdoor unit

Every metre beyond the 2–3 included is charged 25–27 € + VAT.

high
Power (BTU)

Bigger units need thicker pipes and more work.

medium
Wall and access

Drilling into concrete or stone, an outdoor unit at height or the need for a cherry picker raise the price.

high
Electrical line

If a separate line from the fuse board is needed, you also pay an electrician (80–150 €).

medium
Area

Outside Attica/Thessaloniki some providers charge for travel (e.g. 1 €/km).

low

03Regional differences

The published prices come mostly from Attica (MyConstructor, psyktikos.gr, eco4all) and from a chain with a nationwide network (Praktiker, with a travel charge of 1 €/km beyond a certain distance from the store). In June and July waiting times get longer and discounts disappear. Installing in spring is usually quicker.

04Tips before you pay

  • Measure the pipe route beforehand. This is the biggest hidden cost.
  • Ask whether the price is with or without VAT: many price lists say “+ VAT”.
  • If you buy from a shop, compare the buy + install package with the price of the unit alone + an independent refrigeration technician.
  • Ask for a leak test and a vacuum on the circuit. It is part of a correct installation.
  • Book an appointment in April–May to avoid the summer peak.
