02What affects the price
Without a residual-current relay or earthing the electrician will not sign. Corrections are paid separately.
More circuits mean more measurements and a bigger diagram.
Three-phase usually has a higher price on the free market.
Commercial premises cost many times more.
For a property without power (reconnection) the price is higher, e.g. 172.80 € instead of 108 € at ΔΕΗ.
03Regional differences
The ΔΕΗ price is the same across Greece, regardless of area and floor area. That makes it a useful reference point for islands and remote areas, where private contractors often charge for travel too. In big cities private electricians are often cheaper for small apartments.
04Tips before you pay
- Ask whether the price includes the diagram, measurements, filing with ΔΕΔΔΗΕ and VAT.
- If the installation is old, first ask for an estimate for the corrections (relay, earthing, fuse board).
- Check that the electrician has the right licence for the type of installation.
- The ΥΔΕ expires: for homes it is usually renewed every 14 years or when the use/supply changes. It is worth checking before a lease or a sale.
- Keep a copy of the ΥΔΕ and the diagram. You will be asked for them at the next change.

No. The licensed electrician sets the fee freely. The ΔΕΗ price is a commercial service, not a state fee.

The electrician must refuse to sign until the corrections are made, which are priced separately (e.g. residual-current relay, earthing, fuse board).
How much does a ΥΔΕ cost for a shop?
Usually from 150 € upwards. ΔΕΗ charges 149 € (energised) or 249 € (not energised) with VAT.
When do I need a new ΥΔΕ?
For a new connection, a reconnection after a cut-off, a change of use, an increase in power and when the previous one expires.
Does the ΥΔΕ cost include the power connection?
No. The connection or reconnection fees of ΔΕΔΔΗΕ are separate.
