02What affects the price

Two-wheelers are cheaper, LPG/CNG and trucks more expensive.

If the front desk issues the fees for you, it may charge a small admin fee (e.g. 3 €).

03Regional differences

In the tsig.gr price comparison (14/10/2026) cars cost from 50 € (Komotini) to 60 € (Marousi, Istiaia), with Attica usually at 55–60 €. The public ΚΤΕΟ of the Regions apply the ΚΥΑ fees. There are few of them, though, and they often have long waits.

04Tips before you pay

  • Compare ΚΤΕΟ prices in your area. The difference can reach 10 €.
  • Book 1–2 weeks before expiry so you have room for a re-test.
  • Check the lights, wipers, tyres and horn yourself. They are the most common reasons for failing.
  • The date of your next inspection is shown on the ΚΤΕΟ slip and on gov.gr (myCAR).
  • Do not drive with an expired ΚΤΕΟ: besides the fine, you may also have a problem with your insurer.

The step-by-step procedure (documents, where it is done) is on grafeiokratia.gr (in Greek).
