Visit/diagnosis during working hours, without materials. Evenings and public holidays 50–150 €.
02What affects the price
Evenings, Sundays and public holidays can double or triple the charge.
Tracing a short circuit or a leak costs more than a simple replacement.
Price lists are almost always “+ materials”. Sockets, residual-current relays and cables are charged separately.
Old installations without earthing or with hidden cable routes take more time.
Athens and Thessaloniki have similar prices. On islands and in remote areas travel is often charged too.
03Regional differences
The price lists we reviewed from Athens (visit 30–50 €, hourly from about 40 €) and Thessaloniki (visit 25–40 €) differ only slightly. In Thessaloniki several contractors do not charge the visit if the job goes ahead. On islands and in the countryside, allow for extra travel costs, especially in summer.
04Tips before you pay
- Before the visit, ask them to quote the visit, the work and the materials separately.
- Group the small jobs (sockets, lights, switches) into one visit and you will pay only one call-out charge.
- If you have already bought the materials, say so in advance: the price is different.
- For work on the fuse board or new lines, ask for a licensed electrician and a receipt. You will need them for the ΥΔΕ (the installer’s responsible declaration, i.e. the electrician’s certificate).
- Avoid Sunday call-outs for anything that is not urgent (e.g. the main switch trips and the cause is not found).
